The bill would clarify tax treatment of small digital asset payments, income recognition, transfers, wash-sale rules, mining, staking and broker reporting, with a $10 de minimis exemption to cut reporting burdens on everyday crypto payments. It drew bipartisan support, though some Democrats questioned special tax treatment for crypto; with limited legislative time left in this Congress, further progress is uncertain.
