PANews Sep 16: On Tuesday afternoon local time, the US Senate held the cloture procedural vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. Advancing required 60 votes to overcome the filibuster and open floor debate and amendments, but the vote failed 49-50 — far below the threshold and short of even a simple majority. All present Democrats and independents voted no, joined by four Republicans (Susan Collins, Josh Hawley, Jerry Moran and Thom Tillis); Democrat Chris Coons did not vote. Tillis later moved to reconsider, preserving the option of another vote.
