Japan plans to relax stablecoin rules to support large payments
TechFlow, Aug 25: Nikkei reports Japan's FSA plans to ease restrictions on trust-bank-issued stablecoins, opening the door to individual stablecoin transactions above 1 million yen, with the change to be included in upcoming tax reform proposals. If adopted, stablecoins could extend from small payments into large purchases such as cars and housing, marking Japan's stablecoin use moving up the settlement value chain.
