US and UK deepen crypto regulatory cooperation, focus on stablecoins and GENIUS Act
Per Cointelegraph, at the 13th Financial Regulatory Working Group meeting on July 8, the US and UK reaffirmed strengthened digital asset regulatory cooperation, focusing on GENIUS Act implementation, stablecoin regulatory frameworks, and cross-border payment modernization. In an August 4 joint statement, both sides pledged to coordinate stablecoin policy and tokenization strategies. The Bank of England is reassessing stablecoin reserve requirements, considering relaxing the 40% non-interest-bearing deposit limit in response to US progress on USD stablecoin regulation.
