PANews Aug 4 — Mastercard announced it has completed the acquisition of stablecoin infrastructure firm BVNK to strengthen its global stablecoin capabilities. Mastercard's chief product officer said that in a multi-currency world where fiat, stablecoins and tokenized deposits coexist, the next generation of payments will be defined by the connection efficiency across rails, and BVNK's onchain infrastructure and stablecoin-native tech will help financial institutions, fintechs and enterprises expand cross-border B2B payments, remittances, settlement and treasury flows. In March, Mastercard was reported to acquire BVNK for up to $1.8B.
